Foresight Initiative

West Asia Research Institute for regional collaboration

Vsion:

In an era marked by historical distortions, geopolitical complexities, and persistent prejudices, the Jewish and Kurdish peoples stand as enduring symbols of resilience, self-determination, and cultural richness. Both communities, despite their profound contributions, have faced systemic marginalization, vilification, and attempts to erase their national identities.

This manifesto outlines a visionary initiative to establish a platform dedicated to fostering enlightenment, mutual understanding, and intellectual collaboration between Jews and Kurds, addressing their shared histories, cultures, and challenges while countering divisive ideologies.

We envision a world where Jews and Kurds are recognized not only for their historical and cultural legacies but also for their potential to shape a future of cooperation, mutual respect, and intellectual synergy. Through education, dialogue, and rigorous analysis, we aim to dismantle prejudices, bridge knowledge gaps, and build a foundation for enduring alliances between these two nations.

Mission:

Our mission is to serve as a beacon of knowledge and a catalyst for informed discourse about the histories, cultures, and political realities of Jews and Kurds, while critically examining the ideologies that have sought to marginalize them.

By fostering collaboration among scholars, journalists, and policymakers, we seek to lay the groundwork for a research center dedicated to Jewish-Kurdish relations and Middle Eastern studies.trhough this work to achieve a strong net of middle eastern peoplehood that is emboldend to fight redicalization in the middle east and in diaspora that threaghthen democratic and civil way of life

The Middle East’s shifting dynamics offer opportunities for Jewish-Kurdish collaboration, particularly between Israel and Kurdistan. This principle emphasizes proactive engagement with geopolitical realities to promote mutual interests and stability

Core principals:

Education as Empowerment

We are committed to providing accurate, comprehensive knowledge about the Jewish and Kurdish peoples, their histories, and their struggles for self-determination, to counter misinformation and ignorance. Education is the cornerstone of this initiative, as misinformation fuels prejudice. By providing accurate historical and cultural knowledge, the platform empowers audiences to challenge stereotypes and engage with both communities authentically. This principle prioritizes truth as a tool for social change.

Countering
Prejudice

We reject antisemitism, antikurdism, and all forms of ideological hatred, tracing their origins from early religious polemics to modern geopolitical propaganda, and exposing their falsehoods. Antisemitism and antikurdism share historical and ideological roots, often tied to religious, nationalist, or political agendas. By analyzing these prejudices' evolution, the platform aims to dismantle their legitimacy, fostering a culture of rejection toward hate-based narratives.

Interdisciplinary
Inquiry

We embrace a rigorous, multifaceted approach to analyzing the intersecting narratives, ideologies, and geopolitical dynamics that shape the experiences of Jews and Kurds. The complex histories and challenges of Jews and Kurds require an interdisciplinary lens, combining history, politics, culture, and ideology. This approach ensures nuanced, well-rounded content that appeals to academics, policymakers, and the public.

Cultural
Celebration

We honor the rich literary, philosophical, and cultural traditions of both communities, showcasing their contributions to societies. Highlighting the cultural achievements of Jews and Kurds counters narratives of victimhood, presenting them as vibrant, creative contributors to humanity. This principle fosters pride within these communities and appreciation from external audiences.

Geopolitical
Engagement

We advocate for constructive dialogue and cooperation, exploring opportunities for Jewish-Kurdish alliances within the evolving landscape of the Middle East.
